Dinner, wine and Twitter!
As mentioned in my previous post, I was invited to my first Twitter Live Wine Tasting last night.
Our excellent host Robert McIntosh assisted by Andrew concocted a delicious 5-course meal worth a Michelin star! We were also given the opportunity to sample 5 Hugel & Fils white wines from the Alsace region:
- Gentil (aka Les Fleurs d’Alsace) 2006
- Pinot Blanc 2006
- Gewürztraminer 2005
- Riesling Jubilee 2004
- Gewürztraminer Vendage Tardive 2001
I prefer sweeter wines, and the Gewürztraminer 2005 was the winner in my eyes. I am now truly in love with Alsatian wines! I have included a short review of each wine on my Flickr stream, and we also have a Flickr group with more photos of our evening and gorgeous food!
The wine tasting event was very much unique as we had the important task of spreading the word about the wine within social media using Twitter for live coverage, as well as our own blogs and Flickr accounts.
Many thanks to Annie Mole, Sandrine, Lea, Jeremy, Kai, Niamh, James and of course Andrew & Robert for a fantastic evening.
Enjoy the bank holiday week-end!

I think you Frenchies are all lying about not having a hangover. I spose mine wasn’t exactly a hangover, more just general fuzziness and tiredness. But all gone now and was assisted by Groove Armada and Nick Drake and lots of herbal tea
Fantastic night and I agree it was a shame we all had to dash off to catch the last train.

Wonderful evening! Nice write up. I too am fuzzy but don’t feel hungover as such. Hurrah!
Such a shame we had to dash, especially as the train was delayed in the end

I pretty much followed that on Twitter, sounds like an amazing experience. I’m definitely going to push my bro will be opening his new restaurant soon to start similar sort of events…

Definitely… I think Plurk would be better than Twitter though… I can help you work out the strategy… that’s what I do for a living these days!
