An evening at the Kitchen
Tweet
The lovely Niamh from Trusted Places invited me along with a bunch of other bloggers to an interesting cooking event at The Kitchen in Parsons Green last night.
I was terribly excited at the thought of being treated to a nice meal, but quickly realised that the Kitchen is a different kind of fish (so to speak!). Sadly my little secret is now out – I am the worst cook in the blogosphere!
We were greeted by the owners, Michelin Star Chef Thierry and his business associate Nathalie, with a glass of wine, and were taken to the cooking area at the back of the restaurant for the cooking lesson of our lives. You don’t get to cook your dinner with a Michelin Star chef observing your every move every day!
This is how it works:
- Book your cooking slot online
- Choose the meals you want to cook from a selection of mouth watering recipes
- Turn up at the restaurant Kitchen to prepare your food
- Follow the recipe carefully
- Ask Thierry to help you fold triangular samosas (unlike mine that ended up being square-shaped but tasted good nevertheless!)
- Seal your meals with the sealing machine, voila! That’s your meals done for the week! Pretty cool, huh?
The meals are reasonably prices at £5 per head (which is pretty much what you would spend on your weekly shop anyway), and the ingredients are locally sourced. I have to say that my chicken cordon bleu was delicious!
The Kitchen is definitely a great place to go to if you’re looking for an alternative cooking experience (and you should definitely give it a go!) or if you live a hectic lifestyle and want good yet easy food during the week.
Head over to the Trusted Places blog for a full review of the restaurant. Photos of the event can be found here and here
Thanks again to the bloggers, Thierry and Nathalie for such a pleasant evening!
Note to Thierry: I will be absolutely delighted to teach you how to make square samosas – just leave a comment and I will get in touch!

It would be my pleasure to learn how to create square (rectangular or oblong) samosa’s. Maybe we should create a session where have a free form art samosa competition. Thierry.

Oh well, you can put more filling into a square samosa, can’t you?;)

Lol, I agree Thierry! I would love to participate in a free form art samosa competition
Lolly, you did really well, you’re nowhere near as bad in the kitchen as you claimed!

Thierry – thanks for dropping by! It’s such a good thing that you monitor blogs and what’s being said about you! You do get social media!
A competition is a great idea – something to think about for your next social media event! Sylwia should definitely take part!
Niamh – thanks for inviting me! Had a great time and I genuinely think the Kitchen is a fantastic place!

Lolly, I’m very very jealous! That sounds like an amazing evening. You’ll have to bring a batch of your square samosas along to the next blog/twit meet up
