Internet Culture from London… and beyond
A brand engaged with me the other day…
TweetAs a consumer, I recommend and even occasionally express my discontent about brands via Twitter or my blog.
As a social media pro, I spend most of my days managing online presences for other brands, engaging with both fans and detractors.
And the other day, for the first in absolutely ages, a brand engaged with me… this brand was Italian, which made the whole experience even more exciting!
I was having a chat with a couple of bloggers I am currently working with about Spritz, an aperitif typically consumed in the North of Italy. Spritz is a refreshing drink prepared with white wine or Prosecco wine, a dash of some bitter liqueur such as Aperol or Campari.
I personally prefer Aperol which is much sweeter than Campari, and I was totally thrilled to see that the brand engaged with me on Twitter and went as far as creating a list of Spritz lovers in the UK as a result of our brief exchange.
Now, I am not entirely sure what they’re plans are with this list, but I’d love to see them expand their marketing abroad through Social Media and create a tribe of Aperol brand ambassadors around the world (think the ApertiTweat meet up for a start).
Social media has no geographical boundaries; make the most of opportunities out there…

I am a big fan of Spritz & Aperol is my preferred as well…it’s one of my favorite things about trips to Italy – great Spritz. In fact i’m heading there in a couple of weeks and plan and definitely having a few!
