Where the hell is Matt? And let’s find out where the Twitterers and bloggers are whilst we’re at it!
Earlier today, Mashable published Matt Harding’s new awesome dancing experiment, ‘Where the Hell is Matt?’, already clocking 350K YouTube views and counting.
I am a big fan of analytics and wanted to identify where in the world content creators (bloggers) and sharers (primarily Twitter) are, as a quick, non-statistical snapshot of the social web.
If you take a look at the below map, you’ll see that Tweeterers are pretty much all over the world. The UK is accounting for 8.7% of the buzz, whilst things are very quiet in Africa and China (Twitter is censored in China and the Chinese use a service Weibo instead).

Now let’s take a look at the blogs (caveat: self-hosted blogs are tricky to place on a map e.g. a UK blog using a US host).
The US (no surprise there), Germany, France and Italy are on top the blogging leaderboard, whilst the UK scores a meagre 3.8% share of voice.

I’ll update this post tomorrow with new maps to see how Matt’s video spreads overnight. Stay tuned!
