Memolane: snippets from your social past straight into your inbox

Some argue that email marketing is dead, but I personally believe that it can be a very effective communications channel with some strategising. OK, I may not be your average consumer, but email marketing helps me filter information through the deluge of social media messaging that swamps my daily life.

Memolane is a little service that just does that! Simply connect your social profiles to Memolane and you’ll receive a daily or weekly email (called Memomail – the branding is a little confusing) with random social snippets from your past. Oooo the irony! Despite the launch of Facebook Timeline, I use an email service to browse my past.

Memolane offers other features such as search for memories by keywords by logging into the site, and you can also choose to view your Facebook friends’ memories, which is a feature I do not currently use.

Is email marketing dead? I don’t think so.

    Hi Laurence,
We are extremely excited that you love receiving MemoMail. Glad to see you are using Memolane instead of the Facebook timeline :) Adding your friends’ memories is a really great way to create shared stories on experiences that you had with your friends. This handy tool allows you to document your summer adventures and relive you past summers. Thanks for the great post!
    Cheers,
