Lufthansa MySkyStatus – seriously cool!
Oct 13th
Here’s another little gem I wish Dopplr had come up with… Ladies and Gents, I’d like to introduce you to MySkyStatus™, a new travel tool powered by Lufthansa.
MySkyStatus™ is a nifty application that sends precise departure, altitude, location and arrival updates automatically to the traveler’s Facebook and Twitter pages while they’re in the air. MySkyStatus is able to track all flights so travelers of all airlines (not just Lufthansa travellers) can keep their global networks updated, and most importantly their mums as they travel the globe.
It’s something I’ll definitely be checking out next time I travel somewhere!

New shiny social networking site – meet Foursquare
Oct 10th
So yes, Foursquare is now available in London, and with it are all the badge-unlocking, social-drinking, night-life infesting, mobile gaming experiences our American friends have been experiencing for the better part of a year. It’s actually the kind of thing I was hoping Nokia and Dopplr would come up with following Dopplr’s acquisition…
For those of you who don’t quite know what I am talking about, Foursquare, is in a nutshell, a location service-based social network-come-game. What it does in effect is to tell you where your friends are and add a little fun to going out in the evening. More >

Possibly the weirdest ad I’ve seen in a while
Oct 6th
I really don’t get this print ad For Dixons that’s been placarded everywhere on the Tube
Are they basically saying, go and take a look at the plasma screens at Selfridges, the most fashionable department store on Oxford Street, and then head off to Dixons, the ugly, unfashionable store to buy said plasma screen?
This ad really doesn’t make me want to Dixons at all… Look at me being such a snob
Getting under the skin of the Flickr community
Oct 2nd
If you work in Digital PR, chances are Flickr will be included in your overall social media strategy. But what if instead of just creating a Flickr group where users can add their pictures, you instead identified the Flickr influencers and engaged with them?
Consumers (and not necessarily consumers who blog or read blogs) often take pictures of products or brands they like, and this can influence their community as a result. Why not find your brand evangelists on Flickr and include them in your PR campaign?
