First Facebook Places deal unlocked in London – Deadmau5/Footlocker parternship

Despite Facebook Places Deals launching back in January, I haven’t really noticed many businesses using the platform compared to Foursquare.
So when I spotted a Deadmau5/Footlocker partnership, I simply had to head to their stores to unlock the deal, a free Deadmau5 track. Coach implemented a similar campaign in their men’s store in NYC last year which was very successful; using geo-location apps is a great way of driving in-store footfall. The partnership in itself is interesting, positioning Puma as a cool, trendy, musically-orientated brand.
Sadly the whole experience was a bit of let down.

I absolutely love art and I am particularly excited about the Art Fund’s new gamification Art Password Facebook app which clerverly merges experiential, mobile and social. A stamp is awarded for each art gallery check-in and you can also see which exhibitions are currently trending.
A lovely of raising awareness of the National Art pass whilst getting card holders engaged.
Birra Moretti uses Amy Winehouse look alike in print ad

I spotted the print ad below a couple of days after the news of Amy Winehouse’s death. I originally thought it was a distasteful attempt at piggy-backing her death, but looking at the online chatter, it looks like these ads were in fact published a little while back.
I am surprised no one seems to have noticed the uncanny resemblance…

If you follow me on Foursquare, you might have noticed that I’ve been spending an awful lot of time at Fitness First in the last few months even unlocking the elusive gym rat badge
Being a right geek, I have been using a number of iPhone apps, which have really helped me track my progress over the last few months and are worth looking into:
- My Fitness Pal (Free): a great little app which lets you track the calories you consume, to help you achieve your nutrition goals. The barcode scanner which instantly displays nutritional values is genius.
