That Honda Jazz commercial; would you really swing your phone in front of the TV?
Feb 3rd
The team at Wieden + Kennedy London has created an animated 60 second spot to assist the launch of the new Honda Jazz. There no denying that Wieden + Kennedy are creative geniuses however I have mixed feelings about this commercial.
This Unpredictable Life, reflects life’s wonderful and unpredictable journeys as the viewer follows a character from birth as they grow up; collecting experiences, possesions and a family along the way.
Wieden + Kennedy are claiming a TV first by supporting the spot with an iPhone app that turns a regular TV ad into an interactive viewing experience. Created in conjunction with Gravity More >
Using technology to deepen engagement in advertising

I will be lecturing Digital PR at my old university later on this month, which made me think about how different marketing was back in the day, and how it has evolved thanks to technology. (I was one of the few students with a dial-up Internet connection at home back in the day!)
As Social Media practitioners and all round geeks, we tend to forget that average consumers, quite bluntly, couldn’t care less about Twitter, Foursquare and the likes. We do know, however that average consumers, are on Facebook and own mobiles/smartphones. ***

The saga continues: George Clooney and John Malkovich star in a second Nespresso coffee ad

I absolutely adore the Nespresso commercial featuring Clooney and Malkovich which aired on the French screens last year. Surprisingly the ad wasn’t translated (thank god for that – there’s only so much dubbing I can take!) making it even more memorable.
In the last year’s instalment of the Nespresso coffee saga, George Clooney found himself at the Pearly Gates of heaven after dying in a freak accident. There he encounters St Peter in the form of John Malkovich who offers him the option to return to earth in return for his Nespresso coffee machine.
In the new episode, shot in Milan, George appears More >
Magnum – Unlocking the Temptation

Over three million people use the Underground every day. That makes both advertising and marketing on the Tube highly effective ways of getting a product or service into the public eye.
The commuter has become much more sophisticated in distilling the information he takes in on his way to work and so the advertiser has had to become more ingenious at targeting him. Ads need to be either extremely repetitive (continually punctuating his journey) or be extremely creative in order to catch his attention.
I tend to pay more attention to the latter category. I spotted the below ad for More >
I’ve Got Chic in My Pants

I bet you wondered for a split second what I was on about! I have a soft ads for ads that generate debates, and I have to say that I love the creative in this ad; 706,000+ views on YouTube for a diaper ad… not bad!
So do you love it or hate it?
