My 4 new favourite fashion blogs (this week)
Nov 29th
If you work with bloggers, you will naturally be drawn to the larger sites, as your clients will want reach and ‘influence’. But larger sites, are not always the best fit for brands; although posts may be retweeted and shared more often than on smaller blogs, do these articles really influence consumers? Or does the content get lost ‘in translation’ amongst more engaging content?
I’ve been doing a fair bit of work with fashion bloggers lately and just thought I would share my latest blog crushes written by hugely talented bloggers.

Blogfest 2011 – Topshop’s smart Tumblr strategy
Oct 27th
Here is at long last, my first entry for the Bathroom Blogfest 2011 on how Topshop uses to Tumblr to ‘climb out’. I do promise I’ll put up a bathroom related post tomorrow for fun though! Here we go!
Brands have embraced social media as a means to ‘climb out’ and ‘hang out’ with their fans on social networks. Some brands do it well, others have had their fails… I’ve been in working in the social industry for a few years now, and I’ve seen the industry evolve over the years. But my biggest frustration in 2011, is that a lot More >
Fashion and QR codes – a match made in heaven
May 23rd
With increased hype and discussions, QR codes usage is moving past its early adopter phase in the UK, or at least it it seems. While QR codes are popping up with greater frequency on marketing materials, ads and other surfaces, much of the population still doesn’t know what they are or how to use them.
Based on my personal observations, fashion brands are fast embracing this new technology offering exciting marketing experiences where mobile, social and experiential marketing meet and blend.

The fashionable rise of Tumblr and Instagram
Apr 5th
I’ve changed my mind about Tumblr.
Two years ago, I left Tumblr for Posterous, but it seems that Tumblr has made an interesting come back in recent weeks; it’s simple to use, customizable (oh Posterous, your templates are too clinical for my liking), fun (reblogging this, reblogging that!) with a strong sense of community making it easy for users to engage with, and reblog branded content.
And fashion brands have fast spotted an opportunity to set up a presence on the simple blogging service. Tumblr is a great space to convey brands’ DNA through images and content that may not necessarily appeal More >
Mercedes-Benz does #LFW: fashionable content curation
Mar 3rd
With modern web technologies everyone can be a content creator. This onslaught of content gives consumers more choices than ever, making it increasingly difficult to find the best content for a specific interest or need.
I’ve been determined not to miss this season’s London Fashion Week, but quickly realised that trying to keep on top of the #LFW hashtag is virtually impossible. There are simply too many sources to choose from. But I found the help I needed in the app store.
Mercedes-Benz launched last year (I think) a very cool app which pulls in videos and tweets, and behind the scenes content from More >
Coach Poppy Project
Aug 21st
Coach are no strangers to social media, having accumulated an impressive fan base on Facebook and Twitter, and a small army of bloggers who frequently write about their products and campaigns.
Their latest social media experiment, The Coach Poppy Project, is by far the smartest thing I’ve seen in social media year, and I am thrilled to be part of it.
Have you spotted the pretty Poppy banner on the left hand-side of my blog? Yup, that’s right they’ve managed to get almost 360 bloggers (and growing) from around the globe to install an “advertising banner” (quote – unquote) on their blogs.
The incentive (apart from the fact More >
