The New York Lolly Cocktail card has arrived!
Oct 3rd
So I got my Blog cocktail card this morning courtesy Splendid Communications, and I’ll be having a go at making the ‘New York Lolly cocktail’ at the week-end
I think Splendid Communications did a brilliant job at establishing relationship with the 50 or so bloggers who attended the Bloggers Meet Up on Tuesday, but they also managed to create a lot of buzz around the Smirnoff brand and the Moscow Mule via a variety of online venues such as the London Bloggers own blogs, Flickr, Twitter, Facebook but also YouTube, where you can watch a video of the making of the Moscow Mule.

Bad PR, dating geeks and another night out with bloggers…
Oct 1st
Here’s a collection of PR pitches that landed in my inbox recently – some good, some, err, not so good!
PR pitch #1: Twitter = Talking in public
Tim from Olgivy, sent me an email yesterday asking me to blog about an ad campaign for a technology giant. I love advertising so technically it should have been something I would have been happy to blog about… and the ads also looked good.
Such a shame his pitch was the worst piece of PR I have ever seen! I hated the tone of voice in his email (sounded like he couldn’t be bothered), and More >
Dinner, wine and Twitter!
Aug 22nd
As mentioned in my previous post, I was invited to my first Twitter Live Wine Tasting last night.
Our excellent host Robert McIntosh assisted by Andrew concocted a delicious 5-course meal worth a Michelin star! We were also given the opportunity to sample 5 Hugel & Fils white wines from the Alsace region:
- Gentil (aka Les Fleurs d’Alsace) 2006
- Pinot Blanc 2006
- Gewürztraminer 2005
- Riesling Jubilee 2004
- Gewürztraminer Vendage Tardive 2001
I prefer sweeter wines, and the Gewürztraminer 2005 was the winner in my eyes. I am now truly in love with Alsatian wines! I have included a short review of each wine on my Flickr stream, and we More >
Twitter Live Wine Tasting tomorrow night!
Aug 20th
My friend Annie Mole dropped me a line this afternoon asking me if I wanted to take part in a live Twitter / blogging / social media wine tasting tomorrow night, kindly hosted Robert McIntosh. I jumped at the opportunity as I think it’s an interesting strategy that aims to usilise a variety of social media tools LIVE!
Springwise have selected this event to be featured on their website is the company behind the wine tasting; here’s what they have to say about the event: ‘The project aims to give wine enthusiasts around the globe a chance to join the world’s top wine More >
A confession…

Remember the cutie with an impressive spec? Yes, I am talking about the Xda Orbit 2. Well I have a confession to make… whilst I think it is a brilliant phone with lots of cool and useful apps, I have actually started using my old Samsung E900 again. Don’t get me wrong, the Xda Orbit 2 is a fab phone but I am a texter and I missed having a keypad. I found it really hard to text on the go… yes I am a girl and I multi-task!
Goodbye landlines, hello dongles!
Apr 23rd
The folks at 3mobilebuzz recently sent me a new mobile internet dongle to play with, and I have to say that I have been very impressed!
The dongle is very simple to install – just whizz it out its box, plug it in and within minutes you’ll be online. I travel a lot around the UK for work and it was a pleasure being able to send emails during my London-Manchester train journey. I did get disconnected at times, but overall I was quite impressed with the signal strength.
I think there is a massive opportunity to market this product to More >
