Taking a closer look at Twitter Promoted Trends…
Jul 16th
I have to admit that I haven’t been Tweeting and blogging as much as I used to, and have become much more of a passive observer in the last few months. I was pleasantly surprised when I spotted the ‘new look’ (I am not entirely sure when Twitter rolled this out) multimedia rich trending topics page.
Of course there are risks involved in buying promoted trends if clumsily used, but this multi-media format really brings links tweeted to life, and made me want to scroll through the pictures / videos and tweets to find out more about #lovebox. If I were to More >
Using social content to drive sales through search
Jul 12th
There’s a very wrong assumption floating around the heads of many CMO’s and small business owners alike, that having a Facebook page and Twitter profile is enough, because social media is this new and wonderful thing which is going ‘to do wonders’ for your brand.

Need stock photos? Why not give Fotolia.com a go?
Jun 8th
The folks at royalty-free photo site fotolia.com have recently given me a one-month trial to review their site and offering. Time for a quick guided tour.
I guess the title of the post is pretty self-explanatory, Fotolia.com is a royalty-free pictures house, in other words a direct competitor to Getty Images.
Their PR mentioned that they offer the largest image bank of free and most affordable royalty free photos and illustrations (perfect for web or print), but they also offer crowd-sourced and professional images on one site. So if you’re a photographer, you can easily sell your images to Fotolia.

Fashion and QR codes – a match made in heaven
May 23rd
With increased hype and discussions, QR codes usage is moving past its early adopter phase in the UK, or at least it it seems. While QR codes are popping up with greater frequency on marketing materials, ads and other surfaces, much of the population still doesn’t know what they are or how to use them.
Based on my personal observations, fashion brands are fast embracing this new technology offering exciting marketing experiences where mobile, social and experiential marketing meet and blend.
