Using social content to drive sales through search

There’s a very wrong assumption floating around the heads of many CMO’s and small business owners alike, that having a Facebook page and Twitter profile is enough, because social media is this new and wonderful thing which is going ‘to do wonders’ for your brand. I am sure we’ve all had clients who have asked for thousands of fans and followers, as quickly as possible without any content, or budget to create conte...

Here is at long last, my first entry for the Bathroom Blogfest 2011 on how Topshop uses to Tumblr to 'climb out'. I do promise I'll put up a bathroom related post tomorrow for fun though! Here we go! Brands have embraced social media as a means to 'climb out' and 'hang out' with their fans on social networks. Some brands do it well, others have had their fails...  I've been in working in the social industry for a ...

A few social, search and mobile trends for 2012

I am not usually a big fan of prediction posts, particularly when it comes to social, but recently spotted a handful of predictions by industry experts worth mentioning.   Without further ado, here are a handful interesting social, search and mobile trends for 2012. These 3 disciplines are inextricably interlinked, yet too often siloed, so I figured I would sum them all up in one...

The video was produced to support the Intel Visual life campaign, a global digital campaign which aims shift the brand away from its business market positioning to become a consumer brand.

Internet research agency GlobalWebIndex have just published their latest report offering a myriad of fascinating stats about the evolution of the web and how media professionals, content producers and brands can harness consumers’ thirst for (social) content.

Some of the key findings from the report include:

• Social media has reached mass maturity: Today it’s no longer about massive growth but a shift of already active social consumers to ‘real-time’ technologies, such as status updates or tweets. The old view of text-based social media, defined by blogs and forums, is being surpassed, moving the impact of social media, from creating content and publishing More >

When Facebook rolled out the new profile layout last month, users were quick at showing off some serious creativity by taking advantage of the new layout; Mashable have a nifty Facebook profile gallery right here.

I sadly have no Photoshop skills whatsoever, but Dutch Agency Super Social have created a really cool pimp your Facebook profile app for Schweppes, that lets you tweak and chop your profile pic in a couple of clicks.

I think this is a great strategic play by Schweppes, providing a service that will be increasingly popular as the trend catches on. Tweaking your profile pic is pretty quick More >
