Girl Geek Dinner @ Google
Aug 29th
I went to the 3rd Girl Geek Dinners anniversary last night at Google’s HQ in London! It was so exciting to be dining in the offices of an Internet giant! Well I didn’t see their office per se (the security is pretty tight) but they have an awesome restaurant
There were a couple of interesting talks about the challenges of web design and mobile web design by one of the Googlers. As far as mobile web-design is concerned, the sites should only focus on one thing, and should be consistent with the user experience for different brands of mobile phones. Google use More >
Introducing the ultimate Facebook on the go for the masses (and it’s a little scary!)
May 11th
It is being billed as the ultimate Facebook on the go! Instead of logging on to search for friends, mobile phone Bluetooth technology alerts people to other users logged on nearby. In other words, profiles, pictures and background flash onto the screen so users can decide if they want to strike up a real conversation.
The system piloted in Berlin, called aka-aki, can also reveal whether a stranger is a friend of a friend and even if you share the same interests to break the ice. Fear not, the system also allows you to screen out any undesirables. Pheww!

Remember the cutie with an impressive spec? Yes, I am talking about the Xda Orbit 2. Well I have a confession to make… whilst I think it is a brilliant phone with lots of cool and useful apps, I have actually started using my old Samsung E900 again. Don’t get me wrong, the Xda Orbit 2 is a fab phone but I am a texter and I missed having a keypad. I found it really hard to text on the go… yes I am a girl and I multi-task!
The new Nokia Tube is creating a lot of buzz but…

My blog stats yesterday were out of control and it seems that the Nokia Tube is creating a lot of buzz (see stats below)
HOWEVER, this post was about an ad I saw on the Tube (London subway!) not the new Nokia Tube! The stats are fascinating – sounds like the iPhone has found a challenger at last…

A cutie with an impressive spec… by the way, I am talking about the Xda Orbit 2
Feb 26th
The highly anticipated Xda Orbit 2 is now available in the UK, and Steve at VCCP, the advertising agency behind the Cocoon seeding programme, asked me a couple of weeks ago if I was interested in reviewing the device… and I simply couldn’t say no to a shiny new toy!
The deal with VCCP is quite clear – I’ve been given this phone with no obligation upon me to say or write anything about it. But I will, as this is the sort of phone I was planning on upgrading to and I am glad to see a bigger range of smartphones More >
A few thoughts on seeding programmes
Feb 6th
Steve at VCCP asked me a while back how I felt about the 3 Skypephone seeding programme. The timing is perfect to share my thoughts as I have just agreed to take part in another seeding programme…

In case you didn’t know, my name is not Darryl and no I don’t live in the US! I am not quite sure how I would be able to blog about a US product when I don’t have any knowledge of the market… Read my blog (or at least pretend to read it!) and understand what makes me tick and More >
