Girl Geek Dinner @ Google
Aug 29th
I went to the 3rd Girl Geek Dinners anniversary last night at Google’s HQ in London! It was so exciting to be dining in the offices of an Internet giant! Well I didn’t see their office per se (the security is pretty tight) but they have an awesome restaurant
There were a couple of interesting talks about the challenges of web design and mobile web design by one of the Googlers. As far as mobile web-design is concerned, the sites should only focus on one thing, and should be consistent with the user experience for different brands of mobile phones. Google use More >
Cool Twitter Tools

Twitter is an awesome social media tool, terribly addictive yet so simple! There are dozens of Twitter tools around to spice your Twitter life up… I just thought I would share with you some of my fav tools and apps…
- Twitpic – if you are a Twirl user, you’ll be familiar with Twitpic…Twitpic lets you share photos via your Twitter stream. For those of you who got fed up with Twirl’s semi-permanent bugs, you can go to the Twitpic website and share your photos via the web.

Dinner, wine and Twitter!
Aug 22nd
As mentioned in my previous post, I was invited to my first Twitter Live Wine Tasting last night.
Our excellent host Robert McIntosh assisted by Andrew concocted a delicious 5-course meal worth a Michelin star! We were also given the opportunity to sample 5 Hugel & Fils white wines from the Alsace region:
- Gentil (aka Les Fleurs d’Alsace) 2006
- Pinot Blanc 2006
- Gewürztraminer 2005
- Riesling Jubilee 2004
- Gewürztraminer Vendage Tardive 2001
I prefer sweeter wines, and the Gewürztraminer 2005 was the winner in my eyes. I am now truly in love with Alsatian wines! I have included a short review of each wine on my Flickr stream, and we More >
Trends: video-sharing
Aug 8th
Whilst Youtube remains the Daddy of video sharing sites, there are quite a few interesting new(ish)contenders out there.
Seesmic: although Seesmic has now been out for a few months, I recently discovered the Seesmic plugin that allows readers to leave video comments on blog posts, taking commenting to a whole new level! Users have a choice between a video comments plug-in that posts comments in a traditional way or the embeddable player.
12seconds.tv although still in alpha, is in my eyes, a serious contender. 12seconds.tv is the Twitter of video sharing. It lets user share 12 seconds video updates and also automatically sends a message to More >
Introducing Tripwolf, the new social media travel site to watch out for
Jul 27th
Travelling is probably one of my biggest passions in life – there’s something magic about being in another country; the excitement of not knowing what to expect, learning a few sentences in a foreign language, wandering aimlessly for hours…
Part of the fun when booking a trip, is to read about the country / city I am about to visit prior to booking my holiday. I am yet to come across a good site that gives me thorough information about what to see, where to eat and party as well as good photos so that I can get a good feel More >
1 question, 8 answers: the social media meme
Jul 1st
My blog friend C.B Whittemore recently tagged me in 8 more things, the social media meme with one question – what are 8 ways in which you’ve used social media?
1. My blog is my most important and exciting tool to date. I have not only met some wonderful people offline (Chris Brown, Reshma Anand, Organic Frog, Sandrine, Cedric, Steve, Annie Mole… apologies if I have forgotten anyone!) but blogging has also recently changed my life as I am just about to start my new role as a Social Media strategist.
2. Blogging has drastically changed my social media consumption – I created a web More >
